Hello!
I'm Charlie. I'm a positive psychology coach, EFT practitioner, and wellbeing / mindfulness teacher - founder of Messy Healing. Along my personal and professional journey, I found that many wellbeing spaces were either extremely polished and perfect, or really cold and clinical. I wanted to make something different.
Messy Healing is a creative wellbeing hub rooted in the belief that humans are complex, messy, creative, and impossible to fit neatly into one box. I created this as a space where all parts of being human are welcomed and celebrated; through 1:1 support, workshops & groups, creativity, and community.
Alongside support sessions, I share art, writing, podcasts, and thoughtful resources designed to make healing feel more authentic and accessible.
The services offered here are not therapy or crisis support. You can find more information about the different services and approaches offered throughout the website.
My Story
I struggled with my mental health for a long time, and often used alcohol to cope. Things were hard, and I felt too embarrassed to seek support. I didn't feel comfortable to share things because I carried so much shame. Much of the professional help I received didn't help with alleviating these feelings. I was emotionally dysregulated, burnt-out, and constantly people pleasing. I didn't know there were other options.
It took a long time, and it's a journey that always continues, but I am now living my happiest and fullest life. No "one thing" got me to where I am, it was a little of everything! Therapy, sobriety, mindfulness, holistic wellbeing, creativity, and community all helped along the way. I then started studying counselling, coaching, mindfulness teaching, and EFT. I wanted to use my difficult experiences to help others, so I tried to learn everything I could!
As I started building my own practice, I kept being told to 'pick one thing'. To niche down. To make Messy Healing simpler, clearer, and easier to define. But I’ve never fit neatly into one box, and I don’t believe other people do either. We’re complex, emotional, contradictory, creative, messy human beings... and I wanted to create something that truly honoured that.
That’s why my approach is so deeply person-centred. I don’t believe there’s a perfect way to heal, grow, or live well. What works for one person might not work for another, and that’s okay. Messy Healing is about meeting people where they are, honouring individuality, and creating space for people to explore who they are without needing to shrink themselves into something more polished or acceptable first.
I want this to be a space where your creativity, emotions, ambition, softness, uncertainty, healing, and humanity are all welcome.
Thank you for being here!
